During the last week IOM distributed over 25,000 information leaflets on the prevention of trafficking in human beings at the Ukrainian-Moldovan border and brochures from the Bureau of Migration and Asylum on claiming asylum in Moldova. Leaflets were distributed to refugees, authorities and humanitarian organisations present at Palanca, Otaci and Criva BCPs and at the nearby bus stations.
Another 3,000 leaflets on counter-trafficking were handed over to the Center for Combatting Trafficking in Persons of the Ministry of Interior in Moldova. Prevention activities will continue together with partners and communities in the next weeks to raise awareness on the risks of trafficking and the rights of refugees arriving in Moldova.
