25th of May, IOM Mission to Moldova in coordination with the National Tuberculosis Program and the Phthisiopulmonlogy Institute "Chiril Draganiuc" Institutul de Ftiziopneumologie ”Chiril Draganiuc” delivered the first out of four TOT trainings for TB health providers (doctors and nurses) addressing migrants' health issues with a focus on gender. A total of 40 TB health providers into the country, participated in the first TOT online training. The main objective of the course is to strengthen the capacities of the medical staff involved in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. The training course was delivered by two TB national experts Dr. Aliona David and Dr. Irina Volosciuc.
These trainings are organized within the 24-month proposed project TB-MIG funded by the IOM International Development Fund, that aims to institute good migration and health governance in the Republic of Moldova by developing effective migrant-centered and evidence-based policies, and mainstreaming gender and migrant-sensitive TB interventions throughout the Moldovan National TB Programme, while contributing to empower TB affected migrants and their families as development actors.
