Reintegrating Victims and Potential Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings through Specialized Assistance with a Focus on the Transnistria Region
The objective of the project is to contribute to the empowerment of (potential) victims of trafficking (VoTs) in the Republic of Moldova including the Transnistrian region, by supporting their rehabilitation and reintegration into their families and/or into Moldovan society.
The objective is achieved through the provision of support to the Centre for Assistance and Protection of victims and potential victims of trafficking (CAP) in Chisinau and the Women’s Initiatives (NGO) based in Tiraspol (Transnistria Region).
Within the programmes implemented by the CAP and the NGO Women’s Initiatives, VoTs are provided with rehabilitation and re-integration services to support them overcoming the negative effects that resulted from being exploited and avoiding re-victimization. At the same time, potential VoTs (including victims of domestic violence, families facing extreme economic hardship, single parents, stranded migrants, persons with disabilities, as well as children without parental care) are given the chance to tackle and reduce their vulnerabilities, which may put them at-risk of entering the trafficking chain.
The CAP and the NGO Women’s Initiatives offer individualized social, medical, psychological and legal assistance and ongoing reintegration monitoring to VoTs and potential VoTs.
