IOM and GIM marked a further step to strengthen joint efforts for migrants and refugees
Chisinau, September 27 - The Chief of Mission of the International Organization in the Republic of Moldova (IOM), Ester Ruiz de Azua, had a courtesy meeting and introduction with the newly appointed Head of the General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM), Valentin Fyodorov.
During the meeting, it was emphasized IOM’s commitments to support the Government’s strategy for the National Plan for the Integration of Foreigners, including Ukrainian refugees, as well as the needs of refugees and other non-Moldovan residents in key areas such as language programs, cultural orientation, access to services - employment, health, education -, as well as community engagement and outreach.
This meeting between IOM and GIM marks a further step to strengthen joint efforts, including in the areas of protection of those in need.
