The Moldovan Border Police, in collaboration with IOM, launches an online course on preventing exploitation, abuse, harassment and promoting gender equality
(Press Release from the General Inspectorate of Border Police)
“The Border Police strengthens an inclusive, harassment-free work environment in the workplace and promotes gender and equal opportunities. In this context, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the online course on preventing exploitation, abuse, harassment, and the promotion of gender equality was launched, within a project initiated in autumn 2023.
The launch event took place at Border Police Headquarters, representing a significant step in our ongoing efforts to promote equitable perception of gender roles and a safe, respectful, and equitable working environment for all border guards. During the kick-off meeting, key issues on the importance of these training courses and how they will be integrated into the continuous development processes of special status officers were discussed.
At the same time, the activity was carried out thanks to the joint efforts and support of the General Inspectorate of Border Police (GIBP), the training course development process was presented and about 200 printed copies were handed over to the border institution to be used for internal training. The objectives of the course and the accessibility of border officers to its use were also highlighted during the discussions. The next important step is to upload the course to the GIBP e-learning platform by the end of June 2024 to ensure easy access to these essential training resources for all employees. The Border Police is committed to promoting an organizational culture based on respect, diversity, and gender equality. We are grateful for the continued support and collaboration with international partners in achieving these goals.”
