A strengthened collaboration with the General Police Inspectorate for a new stage of cooperation with IOM Moldova.
Chisinau - The Head of the General Police Inspectorate, Viorel Cernăuțeanu, had a meeting on January 17th with the representatives of the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Moldova, led by the Chief of Mission, Lars Johan Lönnback.
The purpose of the working visit was to identify the possibilities of assistance to the Police of the Republic of Moldova by applying effective solutions in the process of managing the flow of refugees and equipping the police with special equipment in order to improve the emergency response capabilities.
Mr. Lönnback expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the GPI, which lasts more than 15 years, and the efforts of the National Police in maintaining and managing the refugee crisis. He emphasized that the International Organization for Migration is open to a new stage of cooperation in supporting the capacities of the National Police.
At the same time, the head of the GPI, Viorel Cernăuțeanu, thanked IOM Moldova for the involvement, cooperation and support given in order to improve the police system.
